Botanical Spirit Guides
Botanical Spirit Guides
Guides come to us in many forms. Many psychics and mediums channel their guides, ancestors, angels and animals.
But did you know botanical guides are speaking to us all the time as well?
As someone who has lived in the woods all my life, I have had the opportunity to work closely with the realms of fey and flowers.
Plants are everywhere – all around us, all the time. Even in cities or offices, one can find potted plants and flowers or even trees. Once can experience a deep connection with plants, and considering that there is only one molecule difference between chlorophyll and blood – it makes sense.
“Plants” encompass anything from trees, weeds, seeds, flowers, bud, vines, mushrooms fruits, vegetables, seaweeds, grasses and moss. With such a plethora of guides available to us it is easy to connect.
So, how can we work with them to the benefit of ourselves and our callers?
1. Look and Listen:
Go into the woods, your yard, sit under a tree or on a park bench. Close your eyes and allow your other senses to awaken. Open your eyes, which plant do you see?
Make note of this and see if this same plant or flower pops again over the next few days. Look closely at your flower, herb etc. with your inner and outer eyes. Do you feel something shifting in you?
Look longer, does the plants appear to move, dance or somehow change?
Everyone’s experience is different, but plants do communicate, can you hear what they say?
You can ask out loud or to yourself for your guide to appear. You can also ask what flower might be helpful for you to use as an essence today. Or is there an incense that might uplift you?
Do you need to decide something? Ask nature to show you the path. Before days end, a plant will speak. It may be random like a flower suddenly just popping into your awareness, you may open a book and see a picture, you could feel drawn to brew some tea.
Plants have a myriad of ways to connect with us so be open to the unusual and unexpected.
Plants, trees, flowers and herbs appear on many tarot decks and other oracles. Lay out your cards and see which plants appear.
Reshuffle and do this several times and see which plants keep appearing.
Listen to the messages they bring on the etheric, emotional, spiritual and physical level. They always sing to us; the key is being open to hear their song.
Go into your apothecary cupboard, kitchen, container of teas or your incense stash. Be still and use your intuition.
Try to keep your mind clear. You will feel drawn to the plants/teas /herbs you need.
Look up their messages if you are unfamiliar but remember their messages can change. Don’t get to caught up in what any one book says they mean on the spiritual level.
Rather, pay attention to how they make you feel intuitively. What do you feel they are saying?
5. Physical touch:
We must be gentle when handling plants, but tree hugging will make you feel connected in ways you might not imagine. Hold on tight and send love to your tree, you will surely feel the return of love within you.
You can also run your hands gently over soft mosses and touch any number of softer fuzzier plants such as moss or dusty millers. The soft feeling can bring serenity and help you connect to the ancient wisdom of nature.
Before touching or ingesting any plant do your research as allergies can occur. Educate yourself to the ways of nature and she will reward with you with deep wisdom and information. All you need do is ask.
How do you connect to nature?
What are your guides?
What do you think?
